The Benue Book and Arts Festival (BBAAF) is set to captivate audiences once again with its fifth edition, themed Home and A-Way, scheduled for early 2025.

Since its inception in 2015 as the SEVHAGE Festival, the Benue Book and Arts Festival has evolved into a significant cultural event, with its maiden edition taking place in 2019. Over the years, it has grown into a vibrant platform for artistic expression and cultural exchange, fostering a deeper appreciation for African arts and literature.

The festival has consistently highlighted the intersection of creativity and social development, making it one of the most anticipated literary and arts gatherings in the region. The 2025 edition, Home and A-Way,  symbolizes the festival’s commitment to bridging geographical and cultural divides, creating a space where art transcends boundaries.

Produced by SEVHAGE Publishers and the SEVHAGE Literary and Development Initiative, with notable support from the Goethe-Institut, BBAAF promises to deliver an engaging series of activities that blend art, literature, and social impact. Attendees can look forward to keynote addresses from renowned scholars and cultural figures, insightful panel discussions, book unveilings, live performances, workshops, and art exhibitions. Each aspect of the festival is designed to highlight the vibrant and diverse nature of African creativity, both at home and across the diaspora.

Writers, artists, creatives, and art enthusiasts worldwide are invited to participate in the festival. Those interested in collaboration, sponsorship, or attending can reach out via email at sevhagers@bbaaf.com  or reach out to Oko on +2347030285995.

The festival will take place in Nottingham, United Kingdom, on January 25, 2025, before moving to Makurdi, Nigeria, for two days on February 21 and 22, 2025. A welcome evening celebration is scheduled for February 20, marking the beginning of the festival in Nigeria.
