The Quramo Publishing Company has officially announced the longlist for the 2025 Quramo Writers’ Prize (QWP), spotlighting 20 writers whose compelling narratives reflect the evolving spirit of African literature.

Now in its ninth year, the prize continues to recognize and elevate unpublished African writers across the continent and diaspora.

The shortlisted writers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, ahead of the final ceremony later this year. The winner of the Quramo Writers’ Prize will receive a cash prize and a publishing contract with Quramo Publishing, joining a growing legacy of acclaimed writers discovered through the prize.

Launched in 2017, the Quramo Writers’ Prize is one of Africa’s most prestigious awards for unpublished manuscripts. The prize aims to discover, nurture, and amplify literary talent across the continent, offering writers not just recognition but a clear pathway to publication.
