Noisy Streetss Publishing has announced an open call for manuscript submissions from African writers worldwide as part of its preparations for its 2026 publishing slate.
The house plans to publish between five and ten new titles next year, with a particular focus on high-quality African romance, love stories, and literary fiction.
The call forms part of the press’s focus on publishing authentic stories by young Africans and producing content aimed at empowering and educating a youthful demographic. The publisher positions its work around representing diverse African voices and perspectives, especially those that reflect the experiences and concerns of modern African youth.

Submission Guidelines
Eligibility
• One manuscript per writer per submission window
• Multiple entries in the same season may lead to disqualification
• Only unpublished, original work is accepted
Email Requirements
• A short author query in the email body, including:
– Brief bio (location, background, previous publications, if any)
– Title and type of work submitted
Files to Attach
• Two separate Word documents (.doc or .docx):
1. One-Page Synopsis
– Clear summary of the full story or project
– Must include major plot points, character arcs, themes, and the ending
2. Manuscript Sample
Submit ONE of the following:
– First three chapters
– First 9,000 words
– First three pieces (for poetry or essay collections)

Formatting Requirements
- Font: Source Sans, 11 pt
- Spacing: single-spaced
- Alignment: centre-justified
- Page size: A4
- File format: Microsoft Word only
- Submissions that don’t follow these standards may not be considered
Review Timeline
• Responses sent within four weeks if additional material is needed
• Writers not selected may receive feedback and can submit again next season
Not Accepted
• No hard-copy or physical submissions
• Only digital entries sent to the official email will be reviewed
