Mmuta Books has announced the publication of Woman at a Crossroads, the second novel by the writer and community builder, Michael Chiedoziem Chukwudera.

This novel follows the success of his debut novel, Loss is an Aftertaste of Memories, which was largely touted in The Republic and Afrocritik as a potential classic and an example of a coming-of-age novel capable of defining future writing.

For over a decade, Michael Chiedoziem Chukwudera has established his presence in the Nigerian literary scene through his critical essays on culture and literature and his book reviews. He has also worked as a community builder in the southeast. His efforts to create an engaging literary community in the east led him to found the Umuofia Arts and Books Festival.

His second novel, Woman at a Crossroads,  follows the story of a young adult, Ugomma, who struggles between her love for education and her eventual fate, an earlier marriage than she would have wanted. Ugomma’s story highlights the struggle that results from the intertwining of the fates of two struggling people—herself and her husband—and the joys and pains of parenthood.

It is scheduled for release on the 12th of June and is currently available for preorder here
