In a bold move to nurture the next generation of voices in Nigeria’s “literary renaissance,” author Chukwuebuka Ibeh has announced an intensive, one-day masterclass for emerging writers.
The workshop, organized by the Umuofia Creative Foundation, is designed to provide up-and-coming talent in the Southeast with the technical tools and industry insights necessary to refine their craft.
The prose class will be taught by Chukwuebuka Ibeh. And the poetry class will be taught by Nonso Njoku.
The workshop date is March 12th, 2026. The workshop runs from 10 am to 3 pm, with an intermission at noon for lunch.
Aimed at sharpening the technical craft of emerging writers, the workshop offers accepted participants a travel stipend and a structured curriculum on high-quality writing and reading.
Applicants must submit a flash fiction piece of under 1,000 words to ci005@bucknell.edu by the March 7 deadline; successful candidates will be notified on March 8.
