Stripes Literary Magazine is accepting submissions for its upcoming Issue 6.2, themed “Fables & Folklore.”

The magazine is seeking retellings of legends, myths, and folktales, as well as original interpretations of folklore.

Submission guidelines

Poetry

  • Submit 3–5 poems in one DOC or DOCX file. PDFs are not accepted.
  • Each poem must begin on a new page, with no more than five pages per poem.
  • Poems must be previously unpublished.
  • Include a cover letter, a 100-word bio, and social media handles.

Art & Photography

  • Submit 3–5 pieces, preferably around a central theme or subject.
  • Include a note about the works and the medium used.
  • Works may be submitted as a compiled PDF or as JPG/PNG files.
  • Include a 100-word bio and social media handles.

Submissions should be sent to thestripesmag@yahoo.com with the subject line “Submission/Genre” — for example, “Submission/Art.”

The magazine accepts simultaneous submissions but asks contributors to notify them if the work is accepted elsewhere.

Deadline: August 30, 2026.

Sarah Adeyemo, Swan IX, is a Nigerian poet, writer, editor, spoken word artiste and communication expert. The debut author of “The Shape of Silence”.
