The Abuja International Poetry Festival (AIPFest) will return for its second edition from October 22 to 24, 2026, bringing poets, writers, performers, artists and cultural workers together across three venues in Abuja.

The three-day festival will be held under the theme “Roots & Resilience: A Call for Reparative Justice,” with this year’s programme set to explore history, memory, identity, justice and the resilience of individuals and communities.

Curated by Abuja Literary Society and Nasara Creative, AIPFest 2026 will feature poetry performances, readings, conversations, exhibitions, workshops and a poetry slam, creating opportunities for writers and artists from Nigeria, other parts of Africa and the diaspora to engage with audiences and one another.

The programme will also include a poetry party titled “Poems Apostle Should Not Hear,” alongside other cultural activities planned across the three-day event.

The Abuja International Poetry Festival was launched in 2024 by Nasara Creative, with the inaugural edition held from November 14 to 16 under the theme “Afro Futurism and Digital Culture.” Its first edition featured poetry masterclasses, panel discussions, readings, performances, exhibitions and a poetry slam, with Pacella Chukwuma-Eke winning the inaugural AIPFest Grand Slam and the Efe Paul Azino Prize.

The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place at Kolanut Gallery, Luna Cafe, and Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
