Narrative Landscape Press, the Lagos-based publishing powerhouse, has announced the launch of Narrative Landscape Press East Africa (NLPEA), a new branch that will operate from Nairobi, Kenya. 

Staying true to its guiding principle, “Our Stories, Our Way,” Narrative Landscape Press seeks to elevate authentic African narratives and foster a global appreciation for the region’s storytelling traditions. The Nairobi-based offshoot will focus on publishing and promoting literature that captures the cultural and creative richness of East Africa, engaging readers both locally and internationally.

Co-founder Eghosa Imasuen emphasized the importance of this growth, stating:

 “Narrative Landscape Press was built on a vision to tell authentic African stories, and this expansion into East Africa is our way of honouring that legacy.” Managing Director and co-founder Anwuli Ojogwu echoed the sentiment, adding, “We are excited to collaborate with the region’s talented writers, enriching the literary landscape and creating a home for stories that resonate locally and globally.”

NLPEA will focus on publishing works across fiction, non-fiction, and children’s literature, offering a robust platform for emerging and established East African authors. In addition to developing literary talent, the branch will extend publishing services to organizations and individuals under the Prima imprint, producing high-quality, customized publications.

Wendy Njoroge, co-founder and CEO of NLPEA, expressed enthusiasm for the venture and encouraged the East African creative community to participate. In her words, she says:

 “This is a new dawn for storytelling in East Africa. We are committed to providing a platform where stories from this region can thrive and reach audiences far and wide. To authors and storytellers, we invite you to partner with us on this exciting journey. Our stories, told our way, are ready to change the world.”

Founded in 2016 by Anwuli Ojogwu and Eghosa Imasuen, Narrative Landscape Press is dedicated to distilling the essence of the publishing process and providing comprehensive services to other publishing houses and self-publishing authors within Nigeria. Their mission is to own the means of production, encompassing not just the printing of physical books, but also editorial and book design expertise. They strive to develop a cadre of excellent writer and have successfully ventured into traditional publishing, with notable acquisitions such as the works of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Their vision is to continue expanding their reach and impact within the literary community on the African continent.

The new division is expected to release an exciting catalog of books that reflect the diversity of East African experiences, featuring captivating fiction, thought-provoking non-fiction, and imaginative children’s stories. 

With this bold step, Narrative Landscape Press continues its mission to shape the literary future of Africa, one story at a time!
