African Youth Artistic Poetry (AYAP), in partnership with Writing EDEN, The Publishing Company, has announced the launch of “Her Voice Beyond the Camp,” a poetry anthology dedicated to amplifying the voices of girls and women living in refugee camps and marginalized communities.
Through poetry, participants are invited to share their experiences, resilience, identity, struggles, and hopes for the future. The initiative aims to create a literary platform where women and girls can express their realities while reaching a broader audience through publication.
The anthology is open to a wide range of contributors, including girls aged 13 and above (with guardian consent), young women and adult women, residents of refugee camps and marginalized communities, and both emerging and experienced poets. Female writers from anywhere are also encouraged to submit their work.
Selected poets will have the opportunity to be published in the anthology, receive a certificate of recognition, and be invited to the anthology launch, where they will also have opportunities to perform their work.
Participants are invited to submit one to three ORIGINAL poems via email to ayap@writingeden.co.za.
Submissions officially opened on 8 March 2026, and the deadline for entries is 31 March 2026.
For further inquiries, interested writers can contact the organizers via WhatsApp at +265 986 90 09 33 or +265 897 346 443, or by email at infoayaporg@gmail.com.
Best of luck to all applicants!
