Narrative Landscape Press has announced that the first print run of the Nigerian edition of Dream Count, the latest novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is expected to sell out within days of its release on 4 March.
The overwhelming demand has exceeded expectations, prompting the independent Nigerian publisher to commission a second print run set for release in late April.
Dr. Eghosa Imasuen, co-founder and executive director for business development at Narrative Landscape Press, expressed his amazement at the rapid sales saying:
“The enthusiasm for Dream Count has been positively overwhelming. It is deeply gratifying, and if I am being honest, a little scary to witness the love for Chimamanda’s work. We knew the demand would be high, but the speed at which this first print run is selling is extraordinary.”
The publisher had started fulfilling individual preorders and distributing copies to bookstores across the country in the week leading up to the book’s official release. The strong pre-order sales and immediate retail demand underscore the widespread anticipation for Adichie’s newest novel, making it one of the fastest-selling titles in the publisher’s history.
Acknowledging the passionate response from readers, Narrative Landscape Press has confirmed that a second, larger print run is already in progress and will be available by the end of April.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure that more copies reach the hands of readers as soon as possible,” Imasuen stated. “We encourage everyone to stay tuned for an announcement in April when orders reopen.”
Adding to the excitement, plans are underway for a o, which will see Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie visit multiple Nigerian cities in the coming months. Details regarding locations and dates will be announced in due course.
Meanwhile, the publisher continues to process and fulfill a high volume of orders. Readers and booksellers are advised to remain patient as confirmation emails, sales receipts, and shipping details are dispatched. Customers with inquiries can reach out via email at orders@narrativelandscape.com or contact@narrativelandscape.com.
As Narrative Landscape Press works to meet demand, readers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on the second print run and details of the Dream Count Homecoming Tour.
