The Dead Poets Society is set to host its debut Poetry Reading, “PoemsLore: An Evening of Poetry,” on December 7, 2025. The virtual event will bring together poets and literature enthusiasts to share and celebrate the beauty of poetry through readings and performances.

Ahead of the event, participants are encouraged to register [here] to support proper planning. Attendees are welcome to bring along their favorite works—whether their own poems, those of other writers, or beloved poetry collections. Friends, pets, beverages, and anything that adds to a fun and memorable evening are also encouraged.

The Poetry Reading will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. EAT. The event will be hosted virtually via Google Meet.

Housekeeping Rules:

  • Readers can read any poem, be it their own, or another poet’s, for as long as the poem lasts.
  •  In case you missed out on registration, you can request to read during the event by commenting or raising your hand.
  • Members of the audience can comment on any poem read, but it is not mandatory. We are here to listen to beautiful poetry.
  • Readers, hosts and the audience are requested to be respectful and mindful in their comments, and interactions throughout the event.

Founded in 2021 by Alice(Freecs), The Dead Poets Society is a Kenyan-based Poetry Circle that has grown into a literary community where literary enthusiasts share the beautiful poems that intrigues them.

The evening promises to be a memorable celebration of words and artistry—save the date!

Sarah Adeyemo, SWAN IX, is a Nigerian poet, writer, editor, spoken word artiste and communication expert. The debut author of “The Shape of Silence”. She draws inspiration from solitude and experiences. She is a fellow of the SprinNG Writing Fellowship.
