Narrative Landscape Press has announced the release of A Meal Is a Meal, the debut short story collection by writer Nnamdi Anyadu, due out on October 18, 2025.

The book was first announced in July 2024 as part of the publisher’s forthcoming titles. At the time, The Lagos Review described Anyadu as a writer with “a talent for merging the bizarre with the beautiful,” praising his ability to offer “profound insights into the complexities of human experience” through the exploration of “darker human desires.”

A Meal Is a Meal is a gothic, food-themed collection that blends storytelling and culinary symbolism. In its pages, meals often take on human qualities—sometimes serving as accomplices or characters in their own right.

Anyadu’s literary journey began with his 2015 flash fiction After Sex, published on Brittle Paper. His writing has since earned recognition on the Afritondo Prize longlist (2020) and the Isele Prize shortlist (2023).

Fellow writer Erhu Kome, who provided an early blurb, described the book as one that will leave readers “hungry for more.”

Early readers can pre-order A Meal Is a Meal from Narrative Landscape Press and receive a 15% discount ahead of its official release.
