The fourth edition of The Shallow Tale Review’s literary reading is happening on the 9th of March, 2024, and it’s billed to have 18 African literary heavyweights all reading from their individual works. This is part of the online journal’s activities to mark the 4-year anniversary of it being founded by Nigerian writer, critic, and editor, Nzube Nlebedim.

The literay reading, titled Reading Shallow Tales, is a free event that does not only bring seasoned writers to read from their works, but also present an opportunity for upcoming writers to experience their favorite writers, network, and ask questions about writing and the literary world.

The keynote speaker for this year’s reading is Professor Amatoritsero Ede, a Nigerian-Canadian poet. The other writers who will be reading include African writers like Molara Wood, Ukamaka Olisakwe, Leye Adenle, Alistair Mackay, Chinonso Nzeh, Nkateko Masinga, Obari Gomba, Loic Ekinga, Korede Yishau, David Hundeyin, Chinaza Eziaghighala, Rutendo Chidzodzo, Zenas Ubere, Bash Amuneni, Tares Oburumu, Kwaku Kyereh, and Saddiq Dzukogi.

The event is happening on the 9th of March, 2024, at 12 pm (WAT), 11 am (BST), 5 am (CST). It is online and free. To attend, register here.
