Moon City Press has announced Ìfẹ́olúwa Àyàndélé as the winner of the 2024 Moon City Poetry Award for his remarkable poetry collection My Father Paints His Dreams on My Body

Along with the honor, Àyàndélé has received a $1,000 cash prize and his collection will be published by MCP later this year.

Hailing from Tede, Nigeria, Ìfẹ́olúwa Àyàndélé has established himself as a powerful voice in poetry. Holding an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, he is currently pursuing an MFA at Florida State University. Àyàndélé’s literary prowess shines through his extensive publications, with his poetry featured in prestigious journals such as Magma, Transition Magazine, Poetry Wales, The Texas Review, The Los Angeles Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, and Michigan Quarterly Review. His nonfiction work has also appeared in the Sierra Nevada Review.

Presented annually by Moon City Press, the Moon City Poetry Award celebrates outstanding contributions to poetry. The competition offers both publication and a monetary prize, serving as a platform for talented poets worldwide.
