The International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts (IAFA) has unveiled its theme, a call for papers, and special guests for the 2024 conference. This year’s event is themed “VICFA 3: Pantheology in World-Building and Magic Systems”.

According to a statement put out by the Virtual Conference Coordinator, Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki, the conference will feature guests of honour, P. Djeli Clark and R.R. Virdi, as well as guest scholars, Grace Dillon and Rabbi A.D. Lobel. Participants are invited to submit proposals that explore the intersection of pantheology, world-building, and magic systems in literature, games, and films. The conference encourages scholarly and creative contributions from a global audience of real-world pantheologies rebirthed in literature as well as in some of the most influential games and films of the technical era.
