the war, like a sanctuary, was where we
ran. it welcomed us. the rebels, we saw
and named saviors, the government,
oppressors. In their hands, we surrendered
ourselves like a baby thrown in the air,
unaware of the casualty if it slipped out of the
hands that awaited it returns.
