Call for Submissions: Stripes Literary Magazine

You are currently viewing Call for Submissions: Stripes Literary Magazine

The Stripes Literary Magazine has announced a call for submissions for its upcoming Place Issue (6.1), which will open from the 26th January to 28th February 2025.

For this issue, Stripes is seeking poems that transport readers to meaningful locations—your favourite akara spot, your village, a street corner that shaped you, or even places you dream of visiting. The editors are especially interested in work that is funny, witty, and imaginative, with whimsical as the guiding word for this volume. Submissions in art and photography are also welcome.

Submission Guidelines:

Poetry

  • Submit three to five poems per issue.
  • Poems that break convention or experiment with new techniques and styles are encouraged.
  • Submissions must be uploaded as DOC or DOCX files (PDFs will not be accepted).
  • All poems must be previously unpublished on any platform.
  • Begin each poem on a new page. The total submission must not exceed five pages.
  • Include a cover letter and a short bio of up to 100 words, along with your social media handles.

Art and Photography

  • Submit three to five pieces, preferably centred around a common theme or idea.
  • Include a short note describing the pieces and the medium used.
  • Submissions may be sent as a compiled PDF or as JPG/PNG files.
  • Also include a 100-word bio with your social media handles.

All submissions should be sent to thestripesmag@yahoo.com with the subject line: Submission/Genre (e.g., Submission/Art).

Founded in 2020, Stripes Literary Magazine has become a home for uncategorized, unhinged, and defiant creative work.

While Stripes is not a paying market, the magazine nominates published work for Best of the Net and actively promotes all selected contributors.

Best of luck to all applicants!
