The bigblackbooks Blog is accepting submissions for its 2nd Issue, Word Revolution, in the form of poetry, prose poetry, folktales, short stories, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essays, memoir, criticism, opinion, scripts, comics, photo essays and a whole lot more genres.
Founded three years ago by Jane Link, bigblackbooks, is the blog for black readers, writers, and publishers. They publish the content weekly, spotlight a trending genre every other month, and release annual issues putting emerging writers in conversation with the big voices, bigblackbooks is the publication for black readers, writers, and publishers.
Submission Guidelines:
- Entries must be the original, unpublished work of the entrant and in English. Published work is not eligible for the prize.
- There’s no word, line, or length count — or limit on the number of submissions per participant.
- The issue will be published in October 2024.
Submissions should be sent in to bigblackbooks@hotmail.com as attached WordDocs with the subject line [FORM EG. POETRY – YOUR FULL NAME – WORK TITLE] and a 100-word creative biography of the author.
Submissions close on 30 June, 2024.
