The Avbob Poetry mini-competition invites you to look at the same person in three different ways, in a SINGLE cohesive poem no longer than 250 words. This could be someone you know or a total stranger. It could be a friend, foe or the most familiar face of all – yourself!
Show the judges how snap judgements or long-held beliefs can change. Reveal the good, the bad, and the ordinary that lie beneath the surface of an individual. Waltz. Trio. Triple trouble and delight.
Play with this idea and bring to light your original interpretation of this mini competition’s theme: THREE WAYS TO LOOK AT SOMEONE.
The judges await the best submissions in ENGLISH only. Three talented poets stand a chance to win one of three cash prizes (R1000, R700 or R300).
