African Liberty, a platform dedicated to advancing individual freedom and prosperity across the continent, has officially opened applications for its 2025 Writing Fellowship.

The program, now in its latest iteration, invites aspiring African writers and policy enthusiasts to apply before the deadline, April 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM GMT.

The fellowship kicks off with a five-week intensive online training program running from May 26 to June 23, 2025. Designed to sharpen writing and analytical skills, the course will equip participants to tackle public policy debates with clarity and impact. Following the training, top performers will embark on a 12-month fellowship from July 15, 2025, to July 15, 2026, under the mentorship of seasoned editors and policy analysts.

Fellows will gain exclusive access to publishing opportunities in major African and international media publications, including Voice of America, Forbes, The Guardian Nigeria, BBC, The Star Kenya, Newsday Zimbabwe, and Al Jazeera. Past fellows have also appeared on television and radio, offering expert commentary on pressing issues. Top contributors during the fellowship will receive a monthly stipend, adding a financial incentive to the career-building experience.

The program is open to Africans enrolled in or graduated from institutions of higher learning on the continent, as well as those studying abroad. Applicants are encouraged to submit early via the African Liberty website to secure their spot.

With a track record of placing fellows in globally recognized platforms, the 2025 cohort promises to continue African Liberty’s legacy of fostering impactful storytelling and analysis.

The application window closes in just over six weeks—mark your calendars.

Best of luck to all applicants!!
