Nigerian poet, Abdulrazaq Salihu has been announced as a runner-up in the Sundress Publications Chapbook Contest for his chapbook, Quantum Entanglements With Notes on Loss.

The contest, judged by Egyptian-American poet Athena Nassar, selected three winners. Salihu emerged as a runner-up, joining a celebrated cohort of poets. Notably, A Study in Red by Timi Sanni also received recognition as a semi-finalist.

Salihu, a Nigerian poet and member of the Hilltop Creative Arts Foundation, boasts an impressive literary profile. He has won the SOD Poetry Contest, BPKW Poetry Contest, Poetry Archive Poetry Contest, Masks Literary Magazine Poetry Award, Nigerian Prize for Teen Authors (Poetry), and Hilltop Creative Writing Award, among others. His accolades include fellowships and residencies from IWE Writers Residency, SPRINg, and more recently, the 2025 LOATAD Black Atlantic Residency.

His works have appeared or are forthcoming in Uncanny, Bacopa, Consequence, South Florida Poetry, Eunoia Review, Strange Horizons, Unstamatic, Bracken, Poetry Quarterly, Rogue, Jupiter Review, Black Moon Magazine, Angime, Grub Street Mag, and elsewhere.

Quantum Entanglements With Notes on Loss will be published as part of Sundress Publications’ 2025 catalog.
