This collection is an exploration of Zambian culture and identity. It celebrates women in business, their hard work, perseverance, and determination. From bustling market stalls to grand Copperbelt mansions, from Lusaka’s publishing houses to hidden corners of survival, these thirteen stories illuminate the complex relationship between Zambian women and their money. With unflinching honesty and unexpected humour, this collection weaves tales of love, desperation, and defiance.
It engulfs readers in an imaginary world where they meet and fall in love with characters like Manda and Berlita, Adelight or Purple, who scheme, sacrifice, and persevere, each navigating the precarious terrain where economic necessity intersects with desire, dignity, and dreams.
Congratulations to Copper Monstera and the contributors!
