Words-Empire Magazine has announced a call for submissions for its upcoming Issue 3, open till 31st March, 20226.

For its themeless Issue 3, Words-Empire Magazine is seeking unpublished, bold prose, poetry, essays, memoirs, and reviews that explore a range of styles.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submit 1 or 2 poems with no length restrictions.
  • Submit Essays, Reviews, and Memoirs for Non-fiction.
  • Submit 1 piece for short stories of 1500 word count.
  • Submissions must be sent as a document file: .doc or .docx. PDF files will not be accepted.
  • All submissions must be made only through our submission form.
  • Emailed submissions will not be considered and will be left unopened.

Founded in 2023, Words-Empire is an African literary journal, founded under the umbrella of The Newborn Poets, a community of emerging writers in Nigeria. It celebrates African storytelling while welcoming exceptional voices from across the globe, publishing the creative works of both emerging and established writers in a shared space for imagination, culture, and literary excellence.

While Words-Empire Magazine currently does not offer monetary remuneration for accepted works, it hopes to do so in the future.

Sarah Adeyemo, Swan IX, is a Nigerian poet, writer, editor, spoken word artiste and communication expert. The debut author of “The Shape of Silence”. She draws inspiration from solitude and experiences. She is a fellow of the SprinNG Writing Fellowship.
