Tampered Press is currently accepting submissions for its ninth issue, inviting writers and artists to engage with stories shaped by continuity, memory, and return.
The forthcoming issue draws inspiration from the narrative traditions of 1990s Ghanaian films—stories that unfolded across multiple instalments, resisting neat endings and embracing the tension of what comes next.
For this issue, Tampered is interested in work that understands time as fluid rather than fixed. Submissions should reflect on the past while remaining open to future possibilities, creating narratives that live within uncertainty, recurrence, and ongoing transformation.
The journal is currently open to submissions in five categories:
- Poetry: 2–4 poems
- Fiction: up to 4,000 words
- Non-fiction: up to 4,000 words
- Comics: maximum of 4 pages
- Visual Art: low-resolution images (high-resolution files will be requested upon acceptance)
Submission Guidelines
- All written submissions must be sent as a single file in either .docx or .pdf format.
- Submitted work must be previously unpublished, including on personal websites and social media platforms.
- Simultaneous submissions are allowed, provided they are clearly stated in the cover letter, which should also include a short author bio.
- Writers and artists can submit their work through the Tampered Press submissions portal.
- Queries may be directed to the editorial team via editor@tamperedpress.com
- The submission deadline is February 2, 2026.
Selected submissions will appear in Issue Nine of Tampered.
Best of luck to all applicants!
