Writers Space Africa (WSA) has opened submissions for the 112th edition of its magazine, scheduled for April 2026, with the theme “Déjà vu.”
African writers are invited to explore the ideas of repetition, memory, cyclical experiences, and the feeling of reliving moments, interpreting the theme across a range of literary forms.
WSA is accepting submissions in five categories:
- Creative Non-Fiction (up to 1,200 words)
- Children’s Literature (up to 700 words; poems must not exceed 24 lines; illustrations are optional)
- Flash Fiction (up to 300 words)
- Poetry (one poem, maximum of 24 lines)
- Short Stories (up to 1,500 words)
Writers may submit to only one category and must clearly indicate the title and category of their work. All submissions should be thoroughly edited before submission.
The editorial team will respond to all contributors, whether selected or not, by March 2026. Successful entries will be published in the April 2026 edition, set for release on April 1, 2026, via the Writers Space Africa website. Published works will remain accessible on the platform after release, and authors retain full copyright to their work.
In the event of technical difficulties, writers may contact wsa@writersspace.net or WhatsApp at (+254) 702447045 to report issues; however, submissions should not be sent through these channels.
Entries sent via email will not be considered. To submit your entry, kindly click here.
The submission window closes on February 15, 2026. Best of luck to all applicants!
