Decorated author, Eugen Bacon, has partnered up with Meerkat Press to publish not one, but two new books.
First up is NOVIC, a dark and poetic prequel to Claiming T-Mo which clutches you with themes of family, parenthood, death, and immortality—what about Novic? This is slated for release Q3 of 2025.
Next up, the literary strange unravels in The Rawness of You—genre bending Afro-irreal tales of culture, hauntings, magic, technology, a collision of worlds and everything in between: rich hues of shadow and light. This collection is slated for release Q1 2027.
Eugen Bacon is an African-Australian author of several novels and collections. She’s a British Fantasy Award winner, a Foreword Indies Award winner, a twice World Fantasy Award finalist, and a finalist in other awards. Eugen was announced in the honour list of the Otherwise Fellowships for ‘doing exciting work in gender and speculative fiction.’ Danged Black Thing made the Otherwise Award Honor List as a ‘sharp collection of Afro-Surrealist work,’ and was a 2024 Philip K Dick Award nominee.

Bongiwe T. Maphosa
