Masobe Books is kicking off the new month with exciting news for writers. The renowned Nigerian publishing house has officially opened submissions for manuscripts, inviting fresh voices to join its growing list of authors.

Since its founding in 2018, Masobe has built a reputation for publishing compelling and thought-provoking stories, including Black Ghost by Noo Saro-Wiwa and The Road to the Country by Chigozie Obioma. Last year, the publisher made headlines with its ambitious release of 41 books in 2024, solidifying its place as one of the most dynamic forces in African publishing. Now, Masobe is looking for new voices to continue this momentum, seeking manuscripts that offer fresh perspectives on the African experience—stories that connect, resonate, and inspire.

Submission Guidelines

  • One submission per writer. Multiple entries will not be considered.
  • All genres are welcome, but Masobe is especially interested in romance—stories that explore love, adventure, and deep emotional connections.
  • A one-page synopsis (Microsoft Word format) must be attached, covering all major plot points, including spoilers and the ending.
  • A sample of the manuscript (first three chapters or first three stories, also in Word format) must be included.
  • Manuscript formatting: Double-spaced, justified, indented paragraphs, and in Courier New, 12pt font.
