Odusote Oreoluwa, a law student at the University of Lagos and a dedicated writer, has been announced as a winner in the poetry category at the LDWritingFest24.
Writing under the pen name @thatwriter_ore , Oreoluwa is known for her evocative poetry that seeks to inform, empower, and encourage readers. Her work reflects a deep commitment to storytelling, shedding light on various aspects of the human experience.
The LDWritingFest24, organized by Literary Denizens, recognized outstanding voices in fiction and poetry. Other winners include Okeoghene Maro for fiction, Ayobami Badmus as the fiction runner-up, and Segun Agbaje as the first winner.
Beyond her literary achievements, Oreoluwa contributes to JAY Lit—The Journal of African Youth Literature—where she reports on significant developments in African literature. Her recent articles have covered events such as the Ake Arts and Books Festival 2024 and the announcement of the 2024 African Literary Excellence Awards recipients. This dual role as a reporter and poet positions Oreoluwa as a rising force in the African literary scene.
When not writing or reporting, Oreoluwa can be found singing at the top of her lungs, cramming legal cases, or binging medical dramas. Her multifaceted interests add depth and relatability to her creative expressions.
Congratulations Ore!
