Call for Submissions: Iskanchi Book Prize

You are currently viewing Call for Submissions: Iskanchi Book Prize

The Iskanchi Book Prize is now accepting submissions for its 2025 edition, inviting African writers worldwide to submit daring prose and hybrid manuscripts that defy convention and reimagine storytelling.

Open to both emerging and established writers, the prize seeks manuscripts that break from tradition and offer fresh, thought-provoking perspectives. Whether through innovative prose or genre-blending hybrid forms, submissions are encouraged to push the boundaries of African literature and reflect the complexities of contemporary African experiences across the globe.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Writers must submit a completed prose or hybrid manuscript in PDF or Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  • Include a short writer’s bio (max 150 words) in the email body.
  • Submissions must use the subject line “Iskanchi Book Prize Submission”. Entries without this subject line risk being overlooked.
  • Multiple Submissions are not permitted—only one manuscript per writer.
  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed, provided writers notify the organizers immediately if their work is accepted elsewhere.
  • Manuscripts must be in English or include translations with appropriate permissions.
  • To send in your entry,  submit to: Submissions@Iskanchi.com

The winner of the Iskanchi Book Prize will receive a book publication and a $1,000 honorarium.

All entries after April 21, 2025 will be dismissed!

For more details, entrants are encouraged to visit the official Iskanchi Book Prize website.
