Oriọna Magazine has officially opened its doors to submissions for the upcoming issue, inviting writers, artists, and creators from around the world to contribute to its latest theme exploration: Home.

The theme “Home” offers contributors a wide canvas to explore, whether through personal narratives, artistic interpretations, or cultural reflections. Submissions can investigate the idea of home as a physical space, an emotional anchor, or a symbol of cultural identity. The magazine encourages a variety of formats, including poetry, short stories, essays, visual art, and multimedia projects.

Submission Categories and Guidelines

Oriọna Magazine accepts work across multiple categories:

Poetry:

  • No word or page limit
  • Submit no more than four poems per submission.
  • Compile all poems in a single document in .doc or .docx format.
  • Place titles at the top of each piece.
  • Omit names or any other identifying information from the document.

Prose (Fiction and Non-Fiction):

  • Submissions should be between 1,500 to 3,000 words per piece.
  • Submit no more than three pieces
  • Prose under 2,000 words should be included in a single document in .doc or .docx format, Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced is preferred but not required.
  • Place titles at the top of each piece.
  • Omit names or any other identifying information from the document.

Visual Art & Photography:

  • Submit no more than four pieces per submission.
  • Accepted forms include paintings, sculptures, digital art, mixed media, ceramics, photography, and drawings.
  • Submissions should be in .pdf, .png, or .jpeg format.
  • Include the title of the artwork in the submission form.

Compensation

At present, Oriọna Magazine is an unpaying journal. However, the magazine highly values contributors’ work and promises to provide exposure through its digital platforms. Additionally, selected works from each issue will be nominated for most major literary prizes and awards.

Oriọna Magazine is a publication under Ikike Arts, committed to amplifying creative voices and fostering artistic dialogue. Each issue is curated around a central theme, providing a cohesive yet diverse collection of works that resonate with global audiences.

Submissions will remain open until February 28, 2025, giving entrants ample time to perfect and share their work.
